What was your first BLS show like?

Maybe it was the circumstances, maybe it was the fact that I had one kick-ass time. Either way, I remember my first BLS show quite distinctly.

A few years back ('05), I decided to take a vacation on my birthday. Instead of going to Seattle (my usual vacation destination, visiting family), I chose to go to ST. Louis, because BLS was playing there, with Brand New Sin. I took a week off (not hard to do when you're the boss, but kind of hard to do when you run an internet biz), crashed in a hotel, saw the sights, did the tourist thing and then saw the show.

The show (Friday night) was one of the best I've ever seen. The first opener (there were 2) sucked balls, but who goes for the openers. Brand New Sin (back when Joe was still a part of 'em) was GREAT, and had me in the front moshing. I'm a big guy, so, I have to be careful that I don't mow people down when I'm doin that, but it was SOOOO worth it. At one point , I lost my glasses, and the pit just stopped while I found 'em (thanks guys!!).

BLS came on, and I decided rather than mosh, I'd enjoy a few drinks and grab the show from a decent viewpoint. Sadly, I didn't bring a camera, because they weren't acceptable at shows at that point, but I still enjoyed the hell out of the show. Seeing Zakk play In This River like it should be (with the piano intro) was moving, seeing the rest of the show was just kick-ass.

Don't get me wrong, I've been a ZW / BLS fan for years (more on that in another thread), and have both of their DVD's (skullage wasn't released), and have seen 'em since, but that was the first time I'd seen 'em LIVE and I loved every damn minute of it, vacation and all!!

What was YOUR first show like? What good memories do YOU have from it?
